Plunkett Train Station, Waterford is located on the North Quay, just a 2 minutes walk from the Fitzwilton Hotel. There are regular train services to Waterford from Dublin, Rosslare and Limerick.
By Bus
The bus station is located 2 minutes walk from the Fitzwilton Hotel on the Quay in Waterford City. Daily services to and from Waterford are operated by Bus Eireann, Dublin Bus and JJ Kavanagh Coaches.
By Car - Directions
From the M9 – take the first exit at the roundabout at the end of the M9. Take second exit at next roundabout. At the following roundabout take the second exit onto the R448. Take up the inside lane, at the roundabout take the second exit so you will go across the bridge. At the traffic lights go straight onto Bridge St. You will see the Fitzwilton Hotel in front of you on the right, take the first right and the carpark entrance is on the left.
From the N25 (eastbound) – after going through the toll bridge take the first exit/slip road. At the roundabout take the third exit. At the following roundabout take the second exit onto the R448. Take up the inside lane, at the roundabout take the second exit so you will go across the bridge. At the traffic lights go straight onto Bridge St. You will see the Fitzwilton Hotel in front of you on the right, take the first right and the carpark entrance is on the left.
Waterford Greenway
The Waterford Greenway is a spectacular 46km off-road cycling and walking trail along an old railway line between Waterford and Dungarvan. Enjoy a beautiful journey across three tall viaducts from the river to the sea. The Fitzwilton Hotel is conveniently located just 5 mins cycle from the beginning of the Waterford Greenway , it is the ideal base from which to explore the route and there are ample bicycle rental shops within a few pedals of our doorstep. Waterford Coast
The Waterford coast is an absolute gem, treasured by those who know it and visitors alike. As well as a string of small fishing villages and a number of marinas popular with sailors it has some of the loveliest beaches on the east coast. The Waterford Coast is easily reached from your base at the Fitzwilton Hotel.
There is everything from the hustle and bustle of Tramore – a hugely popular resort town – to small rural beaches - Annestown, Woodstown and many more - where even in the best days of Summer you’ll find peace and seclusion. Good surfing is available at a number of locations and other water sports are catered for at larger centres.
